Ferry Foundation
The Alex Ferry Foundation was established on 24 December 2018. It is a registered charity and regulated by the Charity Commission. The Foundation was created with the assets of a trust fund established in 1989 by the Confederation of Shipbuilding and Engineering Unions (CSEU) to provide financial support to workers who were then engaged in a campaign for a 35-hour working week. Over 200,000 union members contributed to the fund and the surplus that was left after the conclusion of the campaign and the industrial dispute is now being administered by the Foundation.
The Foundation and its Trustees operate a Community Grants scheme and a Research Grant Scheme for both community projects which enable people to realise their potential and to further the debate and understanding between good work and wellbeing.
